Thanksgiving at The Arc
Downey Los Amigos Kiwanis sponsors an annual Thanksgiving lunch at The Arc - Los Angeles & Orange Counties, a social service agency for people with developmental or intellectual disabilities.
Our club members serve a hot Thanksgiving meal while interacting with program participants.
Breakfast with Santa
Every December, dozens of students from low-income families are treated to a free breakfast, where they sing Christmas carols, receive gifts, and visit with Santa Claus.
JC Penney shopping spree
Our club treats dozens of low-income, disabled students to a pre-Christmas shopping spree at JC Penney. But instead of purchasing items for themselves, the students buy Christmas gifts for their parents and loved ones.
Pathfinders
Pathfinders is a weekend leadership program for teens held in Big Bear every spring. Thousands of students have graduated from the program, learning techniques to make them better leaders as they prepare for adulthood.
